malka spigel is the goddess incarnate (really)

Githead: Drive By (2007)

I notice that, after all these years, Malka Spigel (video-maker and bass guitarist with Minimal Compact, Githead, and other line-ups) is finally changing her first name to “Maya’. Some Jews, in their arrogance, will call this ‘self-hating,’ but I think it is more likely that she is sick of being identified with Israelis and their increasingly overt Nazi behaviour.

    Hey, man, she’s just stoned!

    (1) You need to listen to her song “Raining”. It says:
    I can hear your words
    I can hear you thinking
    They’re raining down
    In my head…

This is a not so occult reference to telepathy, which is frequently not much fun, owing to the shit people incessantly broadcast.

    (2) I went to my email before I came here, so I failed to guess your hushmail phrase.

    (3) I have unbanned everybody, but left everybody on moderation.

BTW, how do you take salvia divinorum? Is it a tincture taken sublingually or do you smoke it-alone or with something else?
RE: Ubuntu. What advantage made you go over to that system?
It seem s that unless one is quite computer savvy it’s much more complex than a PC. I have only used a Mac for over 20 years and except for some small issues on the net it is the most practical system that I have found. I have worked on others’ PC-Windows and Vista and inevitably I wind up cursing the machine.

Salvia is the generic name for the sage family of herbs. You can buy salvia divinorum leaves in bulk, but it is notoriously unpredictable in that form: you will smoke half a dozen pipes and start telling everyone it is a waste of time, and then half-way through saying that, you will find yourself abruptly swept away into a kaleidoscopic swirl of hypnotic thingumajigs. Or you can get a standardized strength preparation of the leaves, in which they are guaranteed to possess the same amount of salvinorum-a per mg, thus making the results predictable and controllable. This costs a lot more, but is advised for beginners.

Ubuntu can be installed on any computer and will be just as user-friendly as Windows or the Mac OS. You need to get what is called a “Live CD” of it, and boot from your start-up menu (usually F12). It will even run a sample version from the disk, side-by-side with your existing OS, to show you what it’s like, without uninstalllng the latter, though it will be much slower since it is running from the disk rather than from resident. The Live CD I got includes all the basic applications, such as an e-mailer, a music player, a video viewer, a pdf viewer, the open office word processor, and so on — all freeware. Oh, and it will detect and configure itself for all your hardware automatically: hardwired or wireless interfaces, etc. Finally, it will download and install updates automatically, subject to your approving them, just the same way that proprietary operating systems do.

    – yeah, well, I’m a Crowleyan Muslim, or a Muslim Crowleyan, whichever you prefer.

“– yeah, well, I’m a Crowleyan Muslim, or a Muslim Crowleyan, whichever you prefer.”
Seems sort of an inherent contradiction. Crowley abnegating all law, even though ostensibly he had no obligation to any law, and one would assume you have Sunni predilections and therefore a staunch dedication to the Sharia..
    I would tend to describe myself as as ‘Jewish-Shi’ite’{but please, occultation yes, but Chabad, no!}
Seems we keep meeting in some kind of ‘barzakhian’ nether realm.
I am rather fond of Sheykh Ahmed al-Ahsai’s writings, you can get a small dose in Corbin’s ‘Spiritual Body and Celestial Earth”.

  6. niqnaq says:

It’s a necessary contradiction, of the sort described in historical dialectics. Your assumptions about “sunni predilictions” and “staunch adherence to the sharia” are thoroughly undialectical. If you go back to first principles, instead of thinking in ready-made tabloid stereotypes, you will find that Islam is simply creationist monotheism, as opposed to emanationist monotheism, as found in eastern religions, or creationist polytheism, as found in other western religions. However, as Crowley, and some kabbalists, have accurately shown, to create ‘ex nihilo’ is semantically meaningless, there has to be a zero pole to set against the plus-one pole of the creator, and this is of course the Goddess.

I do mean to get some of Corbin’s books. I am just not in a book-buying mood right now — too busy with other things, like tagging my vast mp3 collection — over 11,000 mp3 files.

  7. raz says:

It will get back to your latter. But I will leave you with a very interesting detail?,
‘creatio ex nihilo’ does not exist in the entire rabbinic literature. It seems it was a necessary invention of the Jewish and Arab philosophers to deal with the creation/ emanation theory which I think {emanation} was opted for by Avicenna with his eternality of the world as opposed to a creation at a specific time and he was acutally excommunicated by al-Ghazali. If I am not mistaken Avicenna was an Ismaili which brings us back to occultation.

I see this as a problem inherent in language. I find Lacan very helpful on this, because he treats language as merely one modality of three, the other two being the visual and tactile, both of which are non-dual in nature. From a psychoanalytic point-of-view, all of us are ‘created’ by our parents, and this colours our religious ideas, inescapably.
