The fighting which started in Donetsk early this morning, Jul 21, resulted in the death of three people and injury of many more. Kiev punitive forces artillery shelled of the city from cannons and mortars. Troops from 93rd brigade of Ukranian army, battalions “Donbass” and “Dnepr” and gunmen from ultra-nationalist organization “Right Sector” are trying to consolidate their grip on positions on the outskirts of Donetsk city. Also fighting near Karlovka and Nytolovo continues. Kiev punitive forces attack is exhausting. Jul 21, 1624 hrs: Fighting continues near Karlovka and Naytolovo. Enemy attack is exhausting. Counter attack by Vostok unit tanks liquidated the threat to the town of Peski. Our NONA’s hit the enemy positions in the airport. The fire by our scout group destroyed a KAMAZ truck carrying ammo. Our artillery deliverd a strike on enemy positions to the south from Marinovka near Snezhnoye. Two armored vehicles fortified in trenches were destroyed, but our infantry can’t move forward, because the Ukrainians are constantly pulling up fresh reserve to the area. Debaltsevo is controlled by our defense forces: the reports about its surrender turn out to be false. However the highway to the north has been taken over by a large group of enemy tanks. Local defense forces jointly with Bezler’s squads and armour completely destroyed a national guards regiment which captured the city administration building at night. The remains of the regiment were blocked in the burning building and burnt down together with it. The column of paratroopers which was sent to help them did not dare to enter the town and retreated in the direction of Konstantinovka. The town is being intensively bombarded from all types of heavy artillery. The town center is suffering the most. About 15 people of the defense forces were killed and injured, Ukrainian casualties are much larger. Update as of 1655 hrs: the center of Dzerzhinsk has been captured by heavily outnumbering enemy forces. The town has fallen.

  At 14:55 hours on Jul 20 a smoking An-26 aircraft could be observed near Molodogvardeisk (Krasnodon district), which was probably shot down. The plane had managed to drop the paratroopers. There is information that it was shot between Lugansk and Molodogvardeisk, but a final shot was made near Sukhodolsk. The paratroopers flew over Molodogvardeisk in the direction of Krasnodon.
