Putin warns Gulf crisis imperils Syria peace efforts
Al-Jazeera, Jun 13 2017

Pres Putin has warned in a phone conversation with the Toad King that the blockade against Qatar by its neighbours will make it harder to reach a peaceful end to the war in Syria. The comment came in a statement issued by the Kremlin after the call on Tuesday. the Kremlin said:

Pres Putin and King Salman touched on the aggravated situation around Qatar, which unfortunately does not help consolidate joint efforts in resolving the conflict in Syria and fighting the terrorist threat.

On Tuesday, the Kremlin said Putin and Salman also discussed developing ties in various areas and expressed an intention to “activate bilateral cooperation.” Late last month, Putin met the Toad Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Moscow for talks on the Syrian conflict as well as cutting oil production.

I just read that, thanks for the suggestion, but his view of the MBs as mere British tools seems absurdly out of date, like Larouche, thinking of the days of Lord Cromer and al-Afghani! When they were trying to kill Nasser, the MBs were paid by CIA as much as MI6 probably, because MI6 had no money compared to CIA. In the 1970s they were CIA-controlled, via Tariq Ramadan in Geneva. Have you read Said Aburish’s wonderful biography of Nasser?
