Foreign minister warns Pindo embassy not to meddle in Russian regional elections
Doug Stanglin, Pindostan Today, Aug 11 2017

Sergei Lavrov, on a visit to Russia’s Vladimir region, warned Washington on Friday against trying to meddle in next month’s Russian regional elections. Lavrov said, TASS reported:

I do not know what plans the Pindosi embassy has, but there were many episodes when Pindo diplomats were seen in illegal activities. The relevant services should take appropriate measures. The Pindo embassy employs many Russian citizens. According to the Vienna Convention, the embassy can only employ technical workers like drivers, typists, stenographers, and they cannot engage in diplomatic activities, including political aspects. But it was not uncommon for Pindosi embassy staff to travel to different regions on the spot, and conduct public inquiries: how they relate to the governor, in general to the federal center. In such situations, we politely ask our Pindosi colleagues to terminate these people’s contracts. I think it’s in the American tradition, maybe they do not even consider it an intervention, because they can all do it and it’s in their blood. I hope that after all the unfounded accusations against us, because not a single fact was presented within 10 months, all the intensity over this topic by the Pindosi establishment will force them to think again, but if this happens, we have our laws, the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which prescribes very specifically what diplomats can do and what not. We will follow it and our laws.

Russia says ‘a pity’ Pindostan casts doubt on Iran nuclear deal
Reuters, Aug 11 2017

MOSCOW – Sergei Lavrov said on Friday it is a pity that the administration of Pres Trump was casting doubt on the 2015 deal to curtail Iran’s nuclear weapons program. Lavrov told a meeting with students broadcast live by state television:

Unfortunately now our Pindo partners call this … into question. In the Trump administration, they continue calling these agreements wrong and erroneous, and it’s a pity that such a successful treaty is now somewhat being cast into doubt.

Trump said on Thursday said he did not believe that Iran was living up to the spirit of the deal.
