‘Turkey aims to enhance military cooperation with Bangladesh’
Daily Sabah, Nov 2021

When it comes to military cooperation, “Turkey always offers joint ventures or technology transfer and it is equally applicable for Bangladesh,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Turan said at a question and answer session with Bangladesh-based diplomatic reporters at the Turkish Embassy in the capital Dhaka. Turan said Ankara wants to be a “solution partner” to Bangladesh in military cooperation. Using the Turkish drones that gained fame after their use in Libya, Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh as an example, he said the country is very flexible when it comes to military cooperation with other countries. “Currently there are several conversations taking place between Turkish companies and Bangladeshi counterparts,” he said, adding that Turkey had already delivered multi-launcher rockets to Bangladesh and that Ankara is also open to joint ventures in shipbuilding for military and non-military purposes. He said the Turkish chief of Naval Forces Command will visit Bangladesh at the end of the month and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was likely to visit at a convenient time. Calling Bangladesh a reliable Muslim ally. In response to a question about Turkish opposition to the execution of leaders of Bangladesh’s main Islamic political party, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, he said that Turkey is against capital punishment as a state policy. (Though “neutralizing” almost 20k Kurds in the past six years and murdering people with Bayraktar combat drones in Syria, Libya, Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia and the Donbass is approved policy.)

From the Three Brothers 2021 exercise in September. “Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan have entered the history of humanity as close friends and brothers. At the heart of these relations are the close ties between our peoples. Evidence of this can be seen in the solidarity and support of Turkey and Pakistan to Azerbaijan from the first day of the 44-day counter-offensive operations launched by Azerbaijan against the Armenian armed forces on Sep 27 2020.” – Azeri Defence Minister Hikmat Mirzayev.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry has decided to reinforce the air defense duty units in addition to arranging joint patrols with the Russian Air Force. The Defense Ministry said: “Due to more frequent flights of various kinds of aviation near the Belarusian border and for the sake of preventing violations of the state border in air space a decision has been made in favor of reinforcing the air defense duty units and arranging joint patrols of the state border in air space by the aviation of the Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Armed Forces of Belarus and the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.” A mixed tactical patrol group flew along the state border on Nov 25. The Belarusian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday that a decision was made to ramp up air defense quick reaction alert forces and carry out joint air patrols with Russian combat aircraft along the republic’s state border. “In the wake of increasingly frequent cases of the flights by various aircraft near the state border of the Republic of Belarus and for the purpose of preventing the violation of the border in the airspace, a decision has been made to build up air defense quick reaction alert forces and carry out joint air patrols of the state border by the aircraft of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops of the Republic of Belarus and the Aerospace Force of the Russian Federation,” the ministry said. As the Belarusian Defense Ministry reported earlier, its radio-technical and radar reconnaissance systems register a constant increase in the intensity of flights by NATO spy and combat planes along the state border of Belarus, including in Ukraine’s airspace. The flights by these aircraft have actually doubled lately and the number of US planes engaged in these operations has risen by 50%, the ministry specified.

Volfovich: International security architecture is falling apart in front of our eyes
BelTA, Nov 25 2021

State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich said: “Today we are facing new risks and challenges to national security. Today’s realities are hybrid wars, cyber-threats, biohazard issues, military conflicts, international terrorism, and the use of artificial intelligence for criminal purposes. These and other threats affect all states. They need to be dealt with. Effective solutions need to be developed. This conference is devoted to these issues. The international security architecture is falling apart in front of our eyes. The arsenal of means of pressure includes such methods as political, economic sanctions and military activity in the territories of neighboring states. Belarus, unfortunately, also comes under the entire arsenal of these means of pressure. What is happening in the bordering states cannot but cause concern. This is NATO’s build-up, and the number of military exercises. Over the past year, more than 50 major exercises took place in neighboring countries, including near the Belarusian borders. Five exercises are underway in Poland and Latvia, with the troops involved exceeding 14k. Is this number big or not? Probably it is enough to unleash a border conflict or provoke a neighboring country to take adequate measures in response. Proceeding from this fact, keeping the Armed Forces and all the forces and means of the national security system in general in full combat alert is the most important factor. This is probably the reason why these issues are under constant control of the President of Belarus and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Much attention is paid to the development of the Armed Forces as the state’s main military organization. The country purchases new planes, helicopters, armored vehicles, multiple rocket launchers, observation and targeting equipment, and automated troop control systems. For us this is the CIS, CSTO, cooperation with our strategic partners, the Russian Federation and China. Only together we can develop a set of measures that will make it possible to respond to these threats.”

EUCOM, NATO Logisticians Plan for Crisis Response Force Action
EUCOM, Nov 19 2021

EUCOM logisticians joined 80 Allied and partner nation colleagues in Ulm, Germany, this week to rehearse the movement of the NATO Response Force and additional Ally units during a crisis. Hosted by NATO’s newest command, the Joint Support and Enabling Command, the event included elements of major NATO Headquarters from SHAPE, EUCOM, Joint Forces Command Brunssum, all EUCOM component commands, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, Transportation Command, and NATO Support and Procurement Agency. The exercise scenario challenged the multinational logisticians to overcome practical constraints that arise from moving large combat forces and their sustainment across the continent and ultimately in directions spanning 360 degrees. “Thoroughly impressive demonstration of how NATO can come together as military professionals to solve the real-world challenge of moving and sustaining forces over a prolonged period of time. The US military consistently exercises how we bring additional combat forces to Europe in the case of crisis. It is great to see our NATO counterparts testing the defensive capabilities of air and sea points of debarkation. This allows us to collectively validate our ability to receive forces and project military power across the theater.”
