The problem of the energy embargo
Colonel Cassad, May 5 18:24

Apparently, the propaganda campaign “Tomorrow we will all amicably abandon Russian oil and gas” ran into a harsh reef of reality. And if the same Hungary immediately said that it was impossible and would be honest to stop chatter on this topic, political logic pushed the European bureaucracy to discuss the issue of a full-fledged embargo. Gas is already openly said that it is now physically impossible to abandon it (German business directly states that it will be a shot in the foot of the German economy, and with gas at all a shot in the temple), and the oil embargo, even in the case of its full version (which is unlikely), will only cause limited damage to Russia (which will simply sell more oil not in white, but in gray with a discount and in the form of various “mixtures,” wagering the shortage due to the overall rise in oil prices), but at the same time will cause catastrophic damage to the European economy, collapsing the standard of living in more than half of the EU countries. Offers to ride bicycles and “screw” something at home weakly warm the European layman, whose dissatisfaction is growing now, which, of course, will be enjoyed by various right/left populists and Euroskeptics in the medium term. In this regard, the EU and the Russian Federation are actually in a state of a kind of “race,” where the parties are waiting, where the standard of living will fall faster and where internal fermentation caused by the economic consequences of the war will begin faster. For the US, of course, it is beneficial that the war lasts as long as possible for the maximum economic weakening of the EU and the Russian Federation. In case of cancellation of a full-fledged embargo, Russia, selling its oil to the maximum (even at a discount), provides itself with a financial cushion in order to overcome the most stressful period of rupture of relations with the West. Therefore, despite all the difficulties in imposing an embargo on oil and gas, this topic will still be tried to be promoted solely for political reasons. At the same time, oil and gas will be stored to the maximum.

Russification of Mariupol
Colonel Cassad, May 5 17:49

Mariupol gets rid of Ukrainianisms and Anglicisms. Also, the DPR is now changing Ukrainianized names. In accordance with Pushilin’s decree, all renamings made after the referendum on the independence of the DPR on its territory are canceled and the situation returns to the beginning of May 2014. Thus, Ukrainization names disappear from the map of the republic and the streets of cities, as well as decommunized names return. It is reported from the field that the status of the LPR & DPR may soon change. I think in the middle of the month we are waiting for interesting news on this topic.

Shariy was detained in Spain
Colonel Cassad, May 5 11:35

The SBU states that in Spain, local intelligence services detained Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy at the request of a gang of Zelensky. They say that in the future he may be extradited to Ukraine, where two criminal cases have been opened against him. Shariy ran in the 2019 elections against Poroshenko, then against Zelensky. The classic story of how choosing between two varieties of shit leads to nothing. Escobar’s theorem has been confirmed once again.

Denazarbayevization process
Colonel Cassad, May 5 9:47

The systemic process of denazarbayevization continues in Kazakhstan. In addition to the already swept wave of resignations and raising issues about corruption and theft with the participation of numerous relatives of Nazarbayev, the amendment to the law which made it impossible to cancel Nazarbayev’s lifelong powers through a referendum was abolished in the Parliament of Kazakhstan. In fact, there was a direct block that prevented Parliament from depriving Nazarbayev of his remaining powers. The real levers of power have already been taken away. For the rest, the Constitution must be amended. Now this amendment has been lifted, which means that in the medium term, Kazakhstan will vote for the updated Constitution, from which the guarantees for Nazarbayev will disappear. All this, of course, will be within the framework of the “large-scale reforms” that Takaev previously announced after suppressing the attempted rebellion associated with persons from Nazarbayev’s entourage. Well, it’s not far from the name of the capital. In general, the process of denazarbayevization is not yet over, although the Nazarbayev clan was (already) deprived of most of the real state power.
