There is no reason why Gilad, his wife Tali and their children should not become Jews again, if they want to, but presumably they never will (unless his entire career as a right-wing philosopher for the masses is completely fake, which is also possible). I on the other hand will either become Jewish with the minimum possible fuss and bother, or just prove that I am Jewish anyway. I have a theory that if you are already married to a Jew, the rabbis just have to try and write you in as quickly & quietly as they can, cos they’re only real concern is to get a commitment from you both that the kids will be brought up Jewishly. Usually it’s the man who is Jewish and the bride who is not or apparently not – RB
